Modern point and clicks avoid this by limiting what you can do to get yourself into trouble. This is a perfectly fine way of doing it (and is a design choice in Grundislav's previous 'A Golden Wake'). Here, however, the game embraces walking dead states and incorporates them into the progress. This gives the game a sort of living feel that leaves you wondering if you could have done something better and it probably the closest I've ever experienced to role playing in a point and click. I hope Grundislav and others build on this idea and make more games like this.Also, the art is just great. The higher resolution steps away from being an imitation of early point and clicks and cements it as a really forward looking entry into the genre.. Incorrigible indeed.. The story is engaging and each case is fun to solve (though not unduly challenging).. Really good. Great atmosphere, story & depth, really enhanced by the artwork, music and voice acting. Takes an inventive approach to the genre by removing inventory mashing puzzles and focussing more on making your own logical links and following leads, which works really well in context. The further you get, the more you can see how past decisions or lines of enquiry may have helped or hinderered your current case, as different people and places loop back into the story. There is some light handholding, but it's more a recap to ensure that you, as a player, are noticing the right connections, though it does seem difficult to make a 'bad' decision without getting clear warnings beforehand.. I had a great time playing this game, a great homage to Gabriel Knight: Sins of The Fathers as well. Animations have a great retro feel, music is on point and the voice acting is superb, making you feel quite immersed in the game as the story progresses. Really enjoyed the characters too! Would love to see another mystery game from this creator! Great job! :D. My husband and I love mysteries and playing detective games, so I was immediately intrigued by the idea of a point and click adventure that will allow you to accuse the wrong person of the crime. The story of the game was satisfying and gave the player time to develop theories about the various cases they needed to solve. I appreciated the red herrings and the slight hint of the supernatural in the steampunk setting. There were a plethora of locations to explore and some great voice acting. The writing was good and made me sympahtize with the characters. I was especially fond of Adelaide and Bill. I did get stuck a few times and reloaded a few times, due to getting locked out of a location because I had approached it poorly the first time. Overall, I felt very satisfied with the ending of the game and with the choices available to me.. I think it took a bit of time for it to really get going, but this game has got hooks. I'm just beginning the fourth case now, but the previous three have been very satisfying to try to figure out. Each case so far has come with a variety of false leads and red herrings - sorting through which leads are false and which actually have legs has made this a fairly singular adventure game, in my experience at least. I'm hoping to see more of this style of mystery. Update to Version 1.09 and other news: End of year kudos. Update to Version 1.08: Based on player feedback, this new patch allows cases to be declared unsolvable when a suspect is added to the Casebook, in addition to closing off all leads.Previous save games will still work, however the option to declare the case unsolvable will not appear if a suspect has already been added..
